The education system in Indonesia has often encountered problems, especially in relation to education and religion in Aceh Tamiang Regency, Aceh. This article attempts to provide an overview of the context of the process of mixing and interaction of students of different religions in the process of studying in Aceh which implements Islamic law. The situation that occurred at the locus of this research, gave rise to several concerns that occurred where the patterns and models of educational approaches that occurred provided narrow choices for students or students who had different religious beliefs when they were in Aceh. This is what triggered several related questions, how students or students responded in adapting to the education system in Aceh, and what strategies were carried out in the adaptation process to continue to be able to follow the education and learning system. Interesting findings from this study indicate that the adaptation process does not necessarily run smoothly, especially in relation to the ownership of social, cultural, and religious attributes. An acculturation strategy is needed for students who have different religions to be accepted, namely by giving in or lowering egocentrism and trying to follow the flow and rules that are enforced by Islamic law.
