Strategi Pemerintah Daerah dalam Pengelolaan Wisata Taman Kehati Kota Subulussalam

Abstract

Environmental sustainability is a shared responsibility, including the strategic role of local governments in preserving environmental cleanliness while also developing regional potential. One form of balance between nature conservation and economic utilization is the development of nature- and culture-based tourism. The Kehati Park tourism site in Subulussalam City, located in Gampong Belgen Mulia, Simpang Kiri District, is a tourism destination expected to serve as a symbol of sustainable tourism in Aceh. This study aims to analyze the strategies of the local government in managing Kehati Park tourism in Subulussalam City and to identify the challenges faced by the city government in managing this tourism area. The research method used is qualitative with a descriptive approach. Data was collected through observation, interviews, and documentation involving related parties such as the Department of Environment and Forestry (DLHK), local communities, and park visitors. Data analysis was conducted inductively to describe the phenomena occurring in the field. The results of this study show that the strategy of the Subulussalam City government consists of three aspects: planning, implementation, and supervision. At the planning stage, development has not yet been fully realized in the field. In the implementation stage, the community of Gampong Belgen Mulia is actively involved in activities such as mutual cooperation (gotong royong), and some residents assist in the evaluation process of development. Meanwhile, the supervision phase is currently under review for future redevelopment. Therefore, there are both internal and external challenges faced by the local government. As a result, security systems in the park area need to be improved, such as adding security personnel and installing CCTV cameras, as well as increasing infrastructure such as public toilets, prayer rooms (musholla), and trash bins.
