Abstract

Sedekah Rawa Pening is a cultural heritage tradition of the Rowoboni Village community that represents a harmonious relationship between humans, nature, and local religious values. However, with the advent of the digital era, this tradition faces both challenges and opportunities in maintaining its meaning and sustainability. This study aims to analyze the forms of resilience of the Sedekah Rawa Pening local tradition in Rowoboni Village in responding to the dynamics of the digital era. The tradition holds an important position as a cultural identity, a space for communal expression, and a medium of spirituality for the local community. Nevertheless, the development of communication technologies and changing lifestyles among younger generations have created challenges to its continuity. This study employs a descriptive qualitative method with an ethnographic approach, using participant observation, in-depth interviews with traditional leaders, village government officials, and young people, as well as documentation of ritual activities. The findings show that the resilience of the tradition is reflected in adaptations to its forms of implementation, including the integration of cultural activities with the creative economy, the use of social media for public dissemination, and the involvement of younger generations in documentation processes. Nevertheless, several challenges have emerged, including commercialization that may shift the sacred meaning of the tradition, intergenerational gaps in understanding, and the limited availability of sustainable cultural documentation systems. The study concludes that sustaining Sedekah Rawa Pening requires collaborative preservation strategies, culture-based education, and stronger local institutional support. Thus, the resilience of the tradition should not be understood merely as its ability to survive, but also as its capacity to transform contextually without losing the philosophical values that constitute its cultural foundation
